EAL Network 2026-2027

Summary

This year’s EAL Network will be structured around four strands: Documentation, Classroom Practice, External Resources and Assessment and Data. At each of the three sessions we will focus on these four strands to highlight good practice and share both established and new ideas.

The Network is led by three classroom practitioners who are the EAL Leads in their schools. Feedback from last year’s network has been used to design the program for the 2026/27 academic year. Whether you are new to EAL or an experienced practitioner, the EAL Network offers inspiration, collaboration and professional support to strengthen your practice. Session Dates:

Session 1: Thursday 5th November 2026, 1pm - 3pm (arrival from 12.30pm)

Session 2: Thursday 4th March 2027, 1pm - 3pm (arrival from 12.30pm)

Session 3: Thursday 27th May 2027, 1pm - 3pm (arrival from 12.30pm)

Cost

Free for Leicester city maintained schools. £195 per delegate (3 sessions) for non-maintained city schools and all Leicestershire schools.

Involvement in this booking requires a commitment. By signing up, you and your school agree to:

Release named staff to attend date/s as detailed in the booking information.
Support staff with school-based activities, gap tasks and improvement work.
Engage fully with all booking opportunities, including any school-based support.
Provide at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or non-attendance will incur a full charge.
- Maintained Leicester City primary schools (accessing the session/s free of charge) will be charged the non-maintained fee.
- Non-maintained and all Leicestershire schools will pay the advertised session fee / will not receive a refund when payment is taken upfront.
Non-maintained and all Leicestershire schools: Please note that invoices will be raised in accordance with the booking details provided. Where your organisation requires a Purchase Order, this should be requested and then supplied to finance@sdsa.net within 2 weeks of making the booking.
